The Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle embraced Thanksgiving’s vibrant spirit of giving and caring in a big way this year, ensuring that youths and families received extra support through 781 meals, food bags and vouchers proudly provided to families across New Rochelle. This generous sharing of food and gratitude epitomized New Rochelle’s enduring strength, generosity and depth of community.

Boys & Girls Club Thanksgiving outreach included:
300 food vouchers delivered through the New York State Learning and Enrichment Afterschool Program
Supports (LEAPS) Grant to the Remington Clubhouse and Columbus and Jefferson Elementary Schools. The
Club’s LEAPS program, launched in 2025, will serve more than 850 elementary school students.
This vital
extension of the school day offers academic and literacy support as well as social-emotional well-being in enriching environments. At Remington, Club members gathered for a cozy Friendsgiving meal served with love by Club CEO Becky Mazzanobile, Remington Clubhouse Director Yolanda Roberson and staff. The scenes were filled with laughter, great food and the depth of joy that made each setting feel like home. At Jefferson, Friendsgiving was filled with good food, big smiles and time spent together as a community, creating warm memories for Club kids and families.
125 bags of fresh produce, donated by Montefiore Health System, were shared with families in need at the Club’s Mascaro and Remington Clubhouses. This support truly uplifted gracious recipients and ensured enjoyable Thanksgivings.
150 holiday meals were served at the Remington Clubhouse Friendsgiving, with support from Remington Families, Remington Men’s AUX and Grandpas United, a New Rochelle nonprofit organization that capitalizes on the wisdom, skills and life experiences of grandpas to strengthen and inspire the community through purpose, fellowship and respect.
100 food bags were distributed in partnership with Klinic Kids, based in New City, N.Y., and dedicated to unlocking the full potential of every child to guide each to triumph over life’s challenges.
106 meals were served at Albert Leonard Middle School, where Club members and their families came together for a family-style dinner including roasted chicken, fried chicken, baked macaroni and cheese, candied yams, stuffing, desserts and more. Before the meal, students shared what they were thankful for, creating beautiful moments of
reflection.
At the Boys & Girls Club’s school-based sites, the Thanksgiving season kicked off with a vibrant Multicultural Potluck at William B. Ward Elementary School. Parents and members shared and enjoyed a variety of delicious dishes representing different cultures.
