A New York City man was accused of stealing a car after leading police on a pursuit in southern Westchester County. Antonio Trusty, 36, of New York, NY, was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.

The Westchester County Real Time Crime Center alerted local departments around 1:05 p.m. on April 6, of a stolen vehicle with Massachusetts license Plate AG781 traveling on the Cross County Parkway. Officers from the Westchester County Police Department observed the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the 2011 Toyota Highlander.

Trusty, failed to comply with attempts to stop the vehicle and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit continued onto the Hutchinson River Parkway, 95 north and onto the Playland Parkway where the Rye Police officers joined in the pursuit. Trusty tried to evade officers, by
driving off the road on properties belonging to Rye residents as well as the American Yacht Club. During the pursuit Trusty struck a Westchester County Police car as well as a vehicle owned by a resident of Connecticut traveling on Stuyvesant Ave.

All involved parties refused medical attention. On Stuyvesant Ave at Barron Place Trusty struck a tree and after a brief foot pursuit was placed under arrest. The Westchester County Police Department processed and charged Trusty with the following charges: Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd, Criminal Mischief 3rd, Unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle 3rd, Reckless Driving, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd,.

The city of Rye Police Department issued Trusty four vehicle and traffic law summonses for leaving scene of an accident without reporting it.
